Mason is the tallest, sweatiest kid in his grade. He struggles to read and write because the letters blur and change. Mason feels like trouble is all around him after his best friend Benny dies. Redemption is coming in the form of a new friend Calvin. Question continue coming from Llieutenant Baird. It seems like trouble and hope battle for Mason's future.I love Mason. He is charming, brave and loyal. His voice is the voice of many students. One of my favorite parts of reading this story was watching Mason realize the power of his story. Also, the unrelenting love of Moonie. I highly recommend carving out time to read this new release.

From my 11 year old grandson...”I finished that book you got me I’m kind of upset that I finished it because I still want to read that story it was soooooooo good I loved it so much it was amazing “

Mason Buttle is a young boy confronted with many challenges. When he finds his best friend dead at the base of their tree fort, life obviously changes. Without giving too much away-this story is about integrity, truthfulness, kindness, loyalty and courage overcoming bullying and adversity. Good Beats Bad!! Once again Leslie Connor nails it. You will laugh and cry at this wonderful, touching story. I LOVED IT!!

Mason Buttle is that kid innocent, simple, and yet complicated by the present and past. Mason's voice and character stand tall. Will be using this with my students for sure.

Simply a great read. Relatable, believable characters. I absolutely loved Mason Buttle...a good, honest soul, despite having had truly bad experiences in his life. The world could use more people like him. I'm glad to have had the chance to meet him. I can't wait to introduce my sons to him.

I read Chapter 1 to my 5th grade students and they were hooked! They made personal connections with Mason and truly empathized with him and his situation. Everyone is better after reading this book.

I purchase books for our school's book room and once this is out in paperback we will order 6 copies for our teachers to use. Wonderful story filled with interesting characters. Ms. Connor does a great job at unfolding the truth of what happened.

Felt that right around the middle it was along and the story was dragging on foreverThe end was goodLoved the authors crunch as well
